Shafer No 1 Well Ready to Start Actual Drilling A wire received by the Utah Oil Refining company Sunday stated and one inch that the four casing had been se set at the bottom of the of the fort ot the o. o 1 well on the Cane ne Creek structure structure ture southeast of Moab Grand county arid and that actual drilling operations operations op- op were to begin Monday l The Shafer No 1 well was the discovery well of southeastern Utah and at feet oil was struck that gushed over the thc top of the derrick but the tools bridged in inthe inthe the hole Since that time the hole has been filled up UI with mud the tools removed and the casing sunk It was stated by geologists of the Utah on Oil Refining company company- that the criBs would probably be put to the to tom of the hole and then bailing bailing- operations take place It Ie is uncertain as to just what vill ha En it is stated as it is not no known just what will be encountered encountered en- en countered in the hole but it is momentarily mo- mo expected that some news may be expected of the well flowing low flow lowing ing and an actual test made
