Show FIREMEN MAKE PLANS FOR FINE 4TH CELEBRATION Bingham volunteer firemen 1 are making plans for an elaborate I Fourth of July celebration this i year. According to a report giv- en by Leonard Miller, committeeman, commit-teeman, at the June conjoint meeting of fire departments No. ! 1 and No 2 held Tuesday even ! ing, this year's affair will be different dif-ferent than those held in the past years. Mr. Miller reported that the following tentative program has been arranged: J0:30 a.m. minlatiure parade, line of march to commence at the Civic Center; 12 noon children's races at the Central school. Many new contests con-tests nave been added; 2:30 p.m. children's dance at the Civic Center. Following the dance, ice cream and popcorn will be given each child; 5 p.m. patriotic-program patriotic-program at the Princess theatre This program will be entirely in motion pictures. 9:30 p.m. adult's dance at the Civic Center, Time for the soap box derby has not been arranged. Announcement was made bv Fire Chief Earl T. James at Tuesday's Tues-day's meeting that four firemen from Bingham's two departments plan to attend the first annual Utah firemen's training school to be held in Salt Lake City on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 21, 22, 23. This school is being sponsored by the educational educa-tional committee of the Utah State Firemen's association. Carl "Chicago Charlie" Zahos of the Victory Flag Society was present at the monthly meeting and asked firemen to help the j society in erecting the V-J display dis-play now being constructed near I the city hall. Firemen voted to j help in the work. A. A. Macke, formerly a mem- i ber of No. 1 department and now 1 of Burbank, Calif., was a guest at the meeting and gave a short talk. Following the business session a Dutch lunch was served. O |
