L Mackenzie King retiring at the age of 74 Friday called communism the greatest menace of our times and said the free nations of the world may have to defend their freedom with their lives at any hour King addressed the National Liberal party convention in his valedictory after almost 30 years as leader of the party The party names a new leader Saturday and King asked that his name not be presented He will wilI resign as prime minister after a new party leader is chosen
