Show LOCAL JAYCEES WIN STATE HONORS Bingham Canyon Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce received a fair share of honors given at the Utah state meeting held in Logan last week-end. The local club won first place award (trophy) for their project, profit making, in which field competition is great. Bob Jimas was elected one of the four state vice president; Bob lias been and is active in Jaycee work. He is a past president presi-dent of the local club, now serving serv-ing as state director, 1945 distinguished dis-tinguished service award winner, win-ner, was chairman of Red Cross drive and is a member of the city council. 'IslBSBSSSSm MR. JIMAS Among some of the speakers heard at the convention were Richard H. (Dick) Wells, Poca-tello, Poca-tello, Ida., former president of Rotary International, Governor Herbert B. Maw, Henry Kearns, Pasadena, Calif., national Jaycee president and Clifford Cooper, past president of California Jay? cees. State officers elected for the coming year are: W. Hughes Brockbank, Salt Lake City, president; pre-sident; Kay Johnson, Springville, Alvin L. Hart, Bountiful, Bob Jimas, Bingham Canyon and D. C. Winget, Richfield, vice presidents. presi-dents. National directors elected were Glenn Kenner, Provo and Rell Argyle, Panguitch. Salt Lake City was named as 1947 convention city-Members city-Members from Bingham attending at-tending the entire convention were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jimas, Mr. and Mrs. Harold W. Nielsen, Eddie Arata and John Adamek. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Shulsen and Mr- and Mrs. Bruce Ivie Jr. joined join-ed the group Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Spen-cer Jacques, Mr. and Mrs. Reed MacMurdie and Pratt Clark, visited vis-ited with the group while there. |
