J MONTAGUE I ITHE j 1 THE WRONG WAY UP The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers has lately purchased a a. large interest in a big New York Bank As a lad we were ambitious And we eagerly expected To embark upon a a glorious career But the fates were unpropitious For our parents both objected To the calling of ot a railroad engl engineer e We d declared the Job was easy And Its duties were delightful With lovely trains of varnished cars to haul But they said wed we'd get all greasy And the risks were simply frightful While the wages would be bo pitifully small emall We were sent to business college Taught subtraction and addition And our parents are aro the people we must thank For the sound commercial knowledge That secured as a position i l lAs As a teller in a great successful bank But today with perturbation We are seeking a solution I Which has vexed us to the very verge of tears For the new association Which now o ons this institution n la Is composed of locomotive t I.
