Truman Uses Holiday To Catch Up on Sleep INDEPENDENCE Mo Dec 23 UP President UP-President President Truman swung Into his family Christmas holiday at home Thursday by sleeping later than usual and then taking his normal brisk early morning walk But there was work on the I presidents president's schedule too He planned tentatively to spend part of the day in Kansas City at his desk In the presidential suite at atthe atthe atthe the hotel Mr Truman did not leave leave the spacious two-story two white frame house until 8 am a.m. when he left by the back door and began a a. spirited two-mile two minute 25 walk through the streets ot of othis his home town He told reporters as he started that the fresh fres air would be good for them He Ha walked steadily not stopping but waved occasionally to townspeople who passed on the street and called Christmas greetings The president was expected to work on routine matters and possibly possibly possibly pos pos- sibly his forthcoming budget and state of the Union messages
