7 CANDIDATES FOR CiTY POSTS F ALE LE NOMINATING PET Seven candidates for city offices filed their applications for their respective posts Saturday with Frank A. A Shields deputy Salt Lake City recorder The dead line for filing of or nominating petitions is 5 p. p m. m Saturday Included among the seven who filed Saturday making a tot total l of 26 who have filed was William M. M Harvey Douglas st. st who aspires to a city commissioner post Mr Harvey made his announcement at the time of filing Others who filed and who previously had announced thc their r intentions of running for office were City Commissioner Commis Commis- John B. B Matheson and Orson Hottinger for commissioner commissioner commis commis- James H. H Sullivan for auditor and James A. A Stump Lt Col Raymond R R. Brady and Jesse K Smith for city judge It was pointed out that voters who failed Jailed to register Tuesday will have a last ast chance to register next Tuesday if they wish to vote in the primary election Oct 23 Final registration d date te is Oct 30 for the Nov 6 final election Absentee voting for the primary probably will be cut sharply because ballots are not expected to be printed until Thursday which would allow only five days for mailing marking and returning of the forms To be counted with the ballots cast by those voting personally absentee bal bal- be in possession of the respective districts' districts judges before 8 S p. p m. m election day However absentee voters in inthe inthe inthe the final elections will be able to be accommodated because of the greater time limit in mailing ballots
