South Temple with members members' of the Utah legislative budget committee committee committee com com- Salt Lake City chamber of commerce representatives and Utah elective officials At the capitol the group studied procedures of handling claims claims' against the state Mr Jack expressed ex- ex pressed particular interest in the states state's machine system of accounting accounting accounting account account- ing which he described as a necessary method of controlling state expenditures where sufficient volume of business is involved Found Profitable Mr Livingood pointed out that the Utah liquor control commission commission commission commis commis- sion with only total volume vol vor- volume ume of business has found the system very profitable When informed that Utah employs employs employs em em- ploys a line item item budget system fin in regard to personal service travel trav trav- el current expense and capital outlay outlay outlay out out- lay accounts Mr Jack remarked that use of too complete a line- line item budget system would not give state departments sufficient flexibility flexibility flexibility flex flex- in administrative procedures dures Mr Livingood pointed out that transfers are possible from I Ione one account to another under the Utah budget system by unanimous approval of the state board of ex ex- |
