Spotlighting UTAH j Would Learn About Utah Every day from many direc-: direc-: tions, more and more people are turning their attention to Utah; proof of which is contained in the letters which stream into the Utah department of publicity and industrial development. From the North Carolina school for the deaf comes the following ; missive: "Our class is studying wool, but North Carolina raises almost no sheep. We need to see some real fleece to help us understand under-stand about wool. "We read in our geography book that you rstate is one of the most important wool-producing states. We read that there are thousands of sheep there We would like very much to see some samples of wool and some pamphlets pam-phlets with pictures and facts about your state. Could you send these things please?" Thanks to the fine cooperation of the Utah Wool Growers association, asso-ciation, samples of wool right off the sheep's back, along with adequate ade-quate literature have been mailed mail-ed by the department of publicity to the North Carolina school. From Chicago A Chicago journal of commerce letter says: "We have been receiving re-ceiving inquiries from persons j interested in visiting your state j I please send us necessary infor-' i mation and twenty-five each of j your booklets so that we can distribute dis-tribute them directly to readers interested in Utah." From New York A Pan American World An-1 ways system letter says: "We feel j that a distribution of. Utah The j Rainbow Land will be of inesti-mablo inesti-mablo value in stimulating tra-1 vel in your state. If you could provide us with from 3,000 to 5,000 copies, we will see that they are trans-shipped to New York, sent to Dublin, Ireland by air and distributed at the Spring show at our expense." The letter goes on to explain that 350,000 potential Epropean tourists interested inter-ested in coming to the United States will be at the show. From Maine From the office of superintend- j ent of public schools, Lewiston, Maine, comes the following let-! ter from A. A. Woodworth, sup-1 erintendent; "Since I am plan-1 ning a trip through your beauti- i i ful state in the near future, I would appreciate any advance publicity and information you have available to make by trip most worthwhile and memorable I am especially interested in the scenic offerings, the best automobile auto-mobile routes and especially a list of good tourist accommoda-1 tions, plus any other information you might think would be valuable val-uable to me. From Washington. D. C. "Thanks for sending the negative nega-tive of a Kodaehrome shot o f Zion national park for use in our forthcoming book" The letter is from the national parks association. |
