Volunteers for Utah's Utan's Defense to Utah on the splendid splendid splendid CONGRATULATIONS I did response to the plea pIca for registration for civilian defense It far exceeded expectations So many more citizens signed up as volunteers for lor any sort of olE task they might be called upon to perform in defending the state against any threat that there weren't nearly enough printed registration cards to go around At last reports some had registered and there may be more when final figures arc are available The registration was four lour times as large as had been anticipated Its It's good to see that response It proves that civilian morale is high in Utah and that An in in any emergency the people of Utah will willqui qui quickly kly rally in the defense of their state We hope there will never be such an emergency emergency- but the better prepared we are to meet it the less likely it is we will ever be called upon to put our preparation to use
