Show SUGAR RATIONING STATISTICS GIVEN Registration of sugar users in Bingham district totaled 5921 and ration books issued numbered number-ed 4742, according to figures reported re-ported after tabulation of the signup, conducted May 4-5-6-7 at grade schools in the district. Ihere were 1179 registrants in the district that were not entitled en-titled to receive ration books. Principals and school teachers, all of whom worked overtime without recompense to handle the registration, were in all instances in-stances commended for good work. Reports on individual communities commu-nities were: , Copperfield 1049 registrations, registra-tions, 905 books issued; Lark 589 registrations; 545 books issued;- Highland Boy 511 registrations; registra-tions; 456 books issued; Copperton 982 registrations, 582 books issued; Bingham Canyon 2790 registrations, regis-trations, 2254 books issued. Commercial sugar users' registrations: regis-trations: Retailers who did not receive purchase certificates, seven; registered re-gistered pounds by retailers, 8985; institutional and industrial users who did not receive purch- j ase certificates, seven; registered i pounds by institutional and industrial in-dustrial users, 2460; Retailers who received sugar purchase certificates, eight; number num-ber of pounds registered by retailers re-tailers receiving certificates, 3143; institutional and industrial users who received purchase certificates, cer-tificates, 15; number of pounds registered by industrial and institutional in-stitutional users receiving certificates, certifi-cates, 2115. Maximum number of pounds of sugar that may be carried at any time by retailers, 6682; pounds that may be on hand at any time by institutional and industrial in-dustrial users, 1823. Gus P. Backman, state rationing ration-ing administrator, said final figures fig-ures probably will show a total registration of between 540,000 and 550,000 persons. An estimated estimat-ed 50,000 Utahns failed to register, regis-ter, he said. Only those who found it impossible im-possible to register will be permitted per-mitted to register on the next registration date, May 21. r |
