Show Local Happenings Pvt. John T. Davis Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Davis, returned return-ed to Camp Haan, Calif., Sunday from San Francisco. Pvt. Davis was at the Presidio and attending attend-ing the Gompers Trade school studying radio the past three months. Mrs. Joseph Seaton and grandson, grand-son, Jimmy Bertelsen, of Price, arrived Tuesday evening to spend several days with Mrs. Seaton's daughter, Mrs. Paul F, Erz, and family. Miss Lorraine Caulfield returned re-turned to classes at St. Mary-of-the-Wasatch college Wednesday morning. Miss Caulfield spent the Easter week vacation with her parents, Mr, and Mrs. Thomas Thom-as Caulfield. ' Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rogerson entertained last Saturday evening even-ing at a family dinner for Frank Begley,, who reports April 11 at Fort Douglas for induction into the U. S. army. Open house Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anast J. Chipian honored Mr. Chipian and his father-in-law,. Ernest Koko-tas, Koko-tas, on their name day. In the afternoon the family attended Easter services at the Hellenic Orthodox church in Salt Lake City. Howard Bellows is attending officers training school at Third platoon company, 26th battalion at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Mrs. George Kampros and daughters of Lead Mine were fuests Easter Sunday of Mr. and Irs. Mike Makris of Helper, parents par-ents of Mrs. Kampros. Salt Lake county Sheriff S. Grant Young spoke at a meeting of the protection division of Bingham civilian defense at the City hall last Friday evening. He explained the county's part in defense work, complimented Bingham on its organization and asserted that the sheriff's office is willing at all times to cooperate coop-erate with Bingham's program. Kendall Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Jones, has spent the past several weeks visiting here and in Salt Lake City with relatives. rela-tives. Employed the past several years in Hollywood, Mr. . Jones is awaiting a call to duty from the U. S. navy. A bowling team from the R. C. Gemmell club placed thir- teenth in the Utah women's bowling bowl-ing tournament which ended in Salt Lake City Sunday. Elvira Wolfe was captain and her team mates were Ruth Granquist, Faye Hancock, Ida Bolman and Mabel Boberg. Announcement is made of the birth of a son Tuesday, April 7, to Mr .and Mrs. Telus Arm of Highland Boy at the Breckon Maternity Home, "Tell the boys at the mine to keep the lead coming, I'll try and use it where it will do the most good, for old times' sake," Lieutenant Lieu-tenant Leland (Sonny) Walker, a dive bomber pilot in Australia, recently wrote his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leland A. Walker of Salt Lake City. The Walkers received re-ceived a cablegram yesterday morning from their son, telling them that everything was fine. Miss Althea Christensen left Saturday afternoon from Salt Lake City for Mattlock, Wash., to visit an uncle, Nels Nelson, and an aunt, Mrs. Mary Goggin, for a month. Vacation companions compan-ions of Miss Christensen were her mother, Mrs. Annie Christensen, Christ-ensen, and sister, Miss Clara Christensen, both of Salt Lake City. While in the northwest the three expect to visit Harry Nelson Nel-son at Seattle. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Scussel and daughters, Beverly and Von-da, Von-da, and Mr. and Mrs. Boyd J. Nerdin and son, Richard, spent Easter Sunday at Luke's Hot Pots. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Householder Household-er of Arlington, Va., telephoned his parents, Mr, and Mrs. J. L. Householder, Sunday to deliver Easter greetings in person. Jack said he expected to complete an FBI radio course in the near future fu-ture and would likely be sent into in-to the field for a time. Don Jensen of Salt Lake City, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. S- Jensen of Copperton, reported at Fort Douglas reception training center cen-ter Tuesday morning . for military mili-tary service. Easter Sunday house guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Creedon were cousins of Mr. Creedon, Mr. and Mrs.William McBreen of Minturn, Colo, and a friend, Miss Katie Murray of Leadville, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hawks of Ogden were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Morris. Representing the Holy Rosary Catholic parish at the annual Easter Monday party of the parish par-ish of the Cathedral of the Madeleine Made-leine at the Lafayette ballroom of the Hotel Utah were the Rev. Daniel E. Leahy and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Caulfield. Among the Binghamites attending at-tending the Utah Symphony program April 1 at Kingsbury hall were Dale Johnston and his daughter, Roberta Johnston. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bates are leaving today (Friday) for Rock Springs, Wyo., for a six-day six-day visit with an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. A. E.
