M Rice Jr who who was on the stand t wh when n court tur adjourned adjured Friday was wa rec recal recalled c. c Ie H e Id Identified th the agreement agreement agree agree- ment ente entered ed into by the the heIrs heirs of Mr Rice and the trustees of the Rice RIe in institute in- in f for f the pro probate te of the will of 1896 The witness said the agreement was made to stay litigation over over real estate in Texas Lu Louisiana Lousiana and New Jersey Dr Edward Donlin the coroners coroner's physician who made an autopsy on the body of William M. M 11 Rice was the next witness He said he found all al of the organs normal except the lungs wh who were extensively congested f c cIn In reply to questions Dr Donlin sa this congestion would have been 1 by an irritating vapor or gas such C e Chloroform On examination cross cross th f Witness said he did not think the con con t at- at he had found could have been as aa the result of pneumonia The congestion con con- geston noted while slight was exten- exten Ive lve Iye an anA anA A A diseased condition of the kidneys ra rs I might h have ve caused such a congestion of the lungs as was observed There might be congestion of the lungs and where death resulted from heart l failure The he autopsy did not tell tel tho the ause ause of death the witness winess said he could only tell tel the condition he found Approximately the cause of death might have beer been one of many things On redirect examination the witness winess said saId that outside of the l lungs he could find no cause for death and that in his hla opinion the conditions he found were poison be le result of inhalation of an irritant
