CITY MAKES NEW TRAFFIC SIGNS Workmen In the police and fire department sh shop p are making a new type of pedestrian lane stop sign It was announced Tuesday by Edwin Edwin Edwin Ed Ed- win G. G Woolsey superintendent of the public s safety bu building The signs sign will wili carry a red metal disc at the top lop and will not be studded d with reflectors Mr Woolley Wool- Wool Icy ley said beca because se the police department departments department's departments department's depart depart- ments ment's policy is not to leave the signs out overnight At present the signs are taken off the streets shortly after dusk and put back the following morning morn morn- ing The are making 12 of the signs at the present time and they will be placed in service service- as soon as completed Mr Woolley said 14 signs will be necessary to comply with a recent city commission order order order or or- der making Virginia street a stop street Those signs will be placed as soon as possible Mr Woolley said
