W Morgan home hom at 1060 South Eighth West street was the scene of an unusual spectacle early Tuesday as a semitropical plant presented admirers with eight i blossoms and two buds The plant Is a mac mac- night blooming cereus a member of the cactus family I which blossoms only one night a year Aside from that distinctive feature feature fea fea- ture however Mr and Mrs Morgan Morgan Mor Mor- gan report their plant in that it carried eight blossoms Instead Instead instead in In- stead of the two or three uch such plants usually present I r called aH aW my friends to see the spectacle Mrs Morgan re reported reported re re- ported and they all were really delighted About 8 p. p m. m Monday the buds were the size of turkey eggs and at midnight they s started to open By 2 a. a m m. m Tuesday the blossoms open and md as as bIg as as dl dinner din din- iner i- i ner ncr plates their p perfume filling the air About 4 a. a m. m d dand dand and died The plant Is about sI six feet tall taU Mrs Morgan said and the blossoms bios blos another another fe feature feature- ture grow from either the tips or or sides of the leaves eaves The blossoms are waxen white with gold tendrils in the center and r rose se colored backs The next blooming probably will be In the fall faU of 1940 she said
