Show r NEW INTERESTS BEST r i WAY TO OVERCOME rt INFERIORITY COMPLEX ili 1 I By BETTY BLAIR It is s usually centered sett-centered people who are cursed with inferiority interiority complexes To project ones one's sell self outside ones one's self into some interesting interesting inter inter- estil esting work of ofa a creative nature is js usually a 1 cure for this crippling handicap Dear Miss Blair I have a problem that is holdIng holdIng holdIng hold- hold Ing me back in life lite and that is an Inferiority complex I am afraid to go out in public for fear tear I am amnot amnot not riot dressed as well velI as others When I am playing tennis or swimming I am always afraid I Iam Iam Iam am not doing as well as my com corn When talking to n l bo boy boyI I am constantly worrying for fear my hair isn't neat or my dress straight or that I am not speakIng speakIng speaking speak speak- ing correctly How can I overcome this in inferior inferior in- in feeling Thank you I BERN Is it possible for you to delve e ba back lc in your own mind for the beginning of ot the tho feeling that you arc are not up to the standard of ot your associates Were there thero remarks made by your elders that gave you the feeling that even when you were dressed as well as you afford you should have been better dressed Or that your hair was never quite right or your ability to do things never quite quito up to standard Go To Beginning If It you can analyze the very beginning beginning be be- e- e ginning of or the complex you have taken the first step to get rid of ot it For having found the original cause you can say to yourself I shall shaH dress according to my station in life Ufe arrange my hair in the most becoming fashion and then knowIng knowIng knowing know- know Ing I have done my best shall shaU forget about both dress and hair If It the thought creeps In according to the theold theold old habit that all is not as it should be put another thought in its place of oC a positive For example just say to yourself I think I am looking and doing my best today Co 10 o there is no reason for thinking j any ny more about myself There is nothing more painful for tor other people than to be forced to listen to those who are arc always apologizing for their dress their hair their surroundings It is true that sometimes when callers arrive unexpectedly all is not as it usually Is 13 in the home or the housewife and her daughter may not look as presentable as they usually do but these things are to be expected and nobody wants to listen to apologies They arc are in the height 0 of bad taste roste The same rule holds true throughout through through- out life If It there is good reason for ones one's being as he is then no apology is necessary and if there Isn't a reason then an apology carries no weight So my dear stop apologizing for yourself to yourself or to anybody else It isn't possible for anybody to be at her best all aU the time Do Creative Work Vork Another thing that bolst bolsters rs confidence confidence confidence con con- in those who have a noticeable noticeable notice notice- able lack of ot it ii is for them to select something they like to do and in which the they may reach a fair point of oC excellence Dramatics athletics music painting gardening and home borne economics the field is un un- limited When one has to work hard bard to achieve success or a fair portion of oC it she is usually too busy to ta think much about herself herselt She can ean give no more than the necessary necessary amount of oC time in making herself nicely presentable The Tho remainder of or her er time and energy must be pent pent on her activities I have never yet seen a person too leIt or unhappy whose hours were packed full with interesting interesting inter Inter- esting activities And it takes only a change of point of ot view to make what seems to be bo a an uninteresting life Ute into the most vitally it lly interesting One has only to think I am limited by my circumstances to a narrow sphere but I will wUl make that sphere beautiful with my personality and with all aIL the effort I can place on onIL It IL I know of no better way for forone forone forone one to get rid of an inferiority com cam plex INFORMAL WEDDING EDDING Dear Miss Blair Will wm you please give some in information information information in- in formation
