U S. S Steel slightly higher most of the tho day National Steel spurted more than 2 points on a favorable earnings report but lost part of it Profit taking increased as the close neared with rails targets of the tho sellers Steel lost its gain Douglas Doug Doug- las Aircraft was depressed 3 points below its high Western Union lost more than 2 points American Telephone Tele 1 phone slipped oft off Several individual issues held up against the trend
