arc more real than the sophisticated bunch Ive I've run up against in the city schools Ive I've taken several girls out and md can truthfully say ray Ive I've never met meta brained rattle bunch a sillier more The They think they know it all yet et they are not only lacking in brains but also aso in manners They think its it's smart to bleed a fellow of his money and then thra to crow about it such sucha a smart thing for her to do after all FRIEND IN TROUBLE I IDear Dear Miss Blair I II I have a friend who has had hod a n alot alot lot o of trouble trouble real real trouble grief and tragedy sickness and h heartbreak heartbreak heart heart- art art- break disappointment and sion zion She lost her only onto daughter also alo an only child who was her sole ole support her home was unpaid for foe end and she came almost losing that except for the timely help offered by the government and she is too aged to work and her health is too uncertain She told me the other day she had been on the verge vere of trying to do away with herself es ts she couldn't bear the loneliness and tragedy of her life I l invited her to my home to luncheon and tried to tell ten her she he was making a big mistake to be so lO o personal about everything Then I got busy talking to some ome of the neighbors and we chipped in and tI Dought nought her a small radio which we e had sent lent to her without any names of donors The neighbors who gave have been more friendly since and they ther tell teU me when they call on her now she seems to be a different woman She listens In to the programs and has connected herself hersel with the world through this mir miracle of modera modern modern mod mod- ern era invention It Ills Is helping to make her for forget ct her troubles Since then I have taken her a number of books bools from the public library which I can get free of COt cost on my card I have chosen books I have ha thought she hc would like I am not writing this to your our column to brag about our great charity but I just wondered if this little mUe experience might not help other women to lift some ome poor heart broken soul in their own neighborhood out of the
