Show "Pass in Revue" Billed As Happy Antidote To War Worries; Plays Here July 4 Tickets to "Pass In Revue", the sparkling all-star service show now touring the state anci scheduled sched-uled for Bingham at the R. C. Gemmell club at 7 p.m. July 4, are going fast, according to Mrs. Bob Jimas at the ticket and bond booth at Union Drug. All purchasers purch-asers of war bonds during June May receive tickets by applying at Union Drug. The program of rich and bright entertainment features acts of top-flight calibre under direction of Colonel H. P. Kayser. The artists are from the Ninth service ser-vice command, which includes Hill field. Camp Kearns, Fort Douglas, Wendover field, Clearfield, Clear-field, N.S.D., Utah A.S.F. depot, Bushnell hospital, Tooele Ordnance Ord-nance depot, Ogden Arsenal and Dugway Proving grounds. Acts include dancing, singing, hillbilly numbers and other na-velties na-velties in addition to the 17-piece band under direction of Warrant Officer George Montgomery. As to the performers themselv-es, themselv-es, WAC Pvt. Helen Barron, known professionally as Sugar Marcelle, is on hand to give out with a few of her riotious numbers num-bers including the hilarious "I've Got a Crush on the Fuller Brush Man." Pvt. Robert Phillips, tenor, is on hand with a delightful medley med-ley of songs from the current Broadway hit, "Oklahoma". Dancing Maniac Pvt. Joe Brown gives out with a few routines as taught to him by the inimitable Bill "Bojangles" Robinson when the two played on the same valde-ville valde-ville circuit. The Brown Bombers Bomb-ers quartet whose outstanding renditions of negro spirituals entertain en-tertain the cast throughout mealtimes meal-times and on most time-out occasions, oc-casions, provide a beautiful interlude in-terlude of harmony with their renditions of "Liza", "Swing Low, Sweet Charjot" and another number num-ber of their own arrangement; Sgt. Hal Thomason's version of G. I. Miss You, done In the style of Danny Kaye, brings the house down and Sgt. Joe Holland's "Dogpatch Daisy" is a close runner-up for top laughs in the show. Others on hand of equal prominence will be Sgt. Lewis Newbauer, baritone, Sgt. Lamir Hampl and his Piano Magic: Sad Sack Red Thompson; Pfc. Victor Marianni and his Opera at the Piano novelty which has been a feature of leading variety air shows in the past; Manny Shar-off Shar-off and his violin; the Psychia- " trist; and Cpl. Tony Gellers, former singer with Freddie Martin's Mar-tin's band. And last, but far from least to be on hand, will be Salt Like City's own T. Sgt. Fielding K.. Smith who is known throughout through-out the state for his work and who has been handed the job of master of ceremonies for "Pass In Revue." Of course, in addition to the many top-flight attractions offered of-fered in the revue, Colonel Kayser Kay-ser has recruited a bevy of beauties beau-ties from the WAC and WAVE installations whose photogenic qualities add the touch of glamour glam-our generally missing from a strictly GI production. Featured among these will be the already-mentioned already-mentioned Pvt. Helen Barron and Yeoman Third Class Gloria Chindgren, whose Boogie-Woogie at the piano will hold a featured spot during the proceedings. Forming the complete chorus, the WAVE and WAC portion of the show will be known as "Kolonel Kayser's Kuties" an eye-filling bunch of service women who might well prove themselves an asset to any Hollywood producer. |
