Show A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF NAT'LWAR FUND by W. R. Anderson Local Chairman of War Chest Drive. It is absolutely fitting that on this day, the next following Thanksgiving, 1943, a holiday devoted de-voted to giving thanks to the Almighty tor the blessings that we have "Over Here", that we be the recipients of thanks from the poor, wartorn souls "Over There". Those pitiful innocent victims of war who have lost their all, from their homes to their families and those they held dear. All of us that have contributed what we thought we could spare to the War Chest, can carry on the remainder of the year with a lighter heart, knowing that for the things we have been blessed with and so gratefully given thanks for, reciprocate in worldly world-ly form when we unite in action to pass along a mere fraction of what we gave to those that have nothing and need help so badly. It is a happy thought to know that there are men in this country coun-try of ours that are big enough to devote their abilities to organized or-ganized charity so that the poor, tired, penniless souls may nave some spark of hope to light their dim life and to help them find a little niche of living space in this big world of ours. Thanks to every subscriber to the War Chest and thanks to the individuals who assist in its administration. ad-ministration. Everyone that has not turned their pledge card in, is urged t do so at once so that a formal check can be made of the collection collec-tion in this district. |
