Show ANNIVERSARY OF GALENA DAYS TO BE DANCE DATE Months ago junior chamber of commerce members decided there would be no Galena days ini1942, because a vote revealed that Jaycees, celebrati6n sponsors, were of the opinion that Galena Days plans should be shelved for the duration. But the spirit of Galena Days will not die. To keep alive the memory of traditions and customs cus-toms which the Miners' Mardi Gras revives, a Galena Days dance will be held the latter part of September at the Civic Center. Cen-ter. One of Bingham's loveliest misses will be named "Miss Galena of 1942" and reign over the dance. At a meeting held Monday evening, ev-ening, the junior chamber of commerce voted to nominate Le-land Le-land G. Burress as a candidate for one of the four Utah junior chamber of commerce vice presidency pre-sidency positions. The state convention con-vention will be held in Salt Lake City September 5-6-7. Next regular meeting, a canyon can-yon party at Dry Fork at 6:30 p.m. Monday, August 24, will be arranged by' Chris T. Praggastis and Virgil Hutchings. Newly-elected members are John Bolic, R. J. Contratto, Virgil Hutchings and Jack Preece. At 5:30 p.m. tonight softball teams representing Bingham volunteer vol-unteer fire companies and Jaycees Jay-cees will meet at Copperton stadium. |
