OCR Text	Show THE POT AND THE KETTLE THE THE newspapers of France have made the 11 Lindbergh tragedy an occasion for re remInding reminding reminding re- re minding their readers that nothing that happens happens happens hap hap- pens in the United States can be very surprising sur sur- They have been calling this country the land where Capone is king and have been asserting that it is under the tyranny of ot redoubtable and impudent bandits There is enough truth in these accusations accusations accusations to make any American blush certainly We do not seem in the least able to cope with our underworld and some shocking things happen to us every so often But no nation has a monopoly on crime Even in France terrible things can happen It is not for instance so very many days day since France buried burled a president who had been murdered while in office
