S ARE YOU REGISTERED V f RE you registered This will be a most important question for voters to look into this fall The county clerk has stricken names from the registration books this year and those who are affected will not be able to vote unless they register again and make certain that their names get on the poll books The law provides that persons who do not exercise their franchise for two successive elections shall have their names taken from the records It is in pursuance of this law that the county clerk ha has has' taken action The first registration day prior to the next elections does not arrive until August There ere is nothing to get excited about right now flow but every voter should make a mental note of the fact that he must be registered to vote and that if he has not voted at the past two elections he will not appear as registered reg reg- Voting at elections is not so much a privIlege privilege liege of citizenship as it is a duty When voters turn out at elections en masse the re result result re- re sult suit of the contest at the polls is always more representative of opinion and therefore more satisfactory for everyone The voter who does not vote only ohly makes himself ridiculous when he complains of the character of service service service ser ser- ser ser- vice by officeholders As bad as it may be beit it is no worse than the indifferent citizen g deserve 5 0 I
