The service was well-delivered and well attended. o j Highland Boy I Marie Aztelio This week in Highland Boy was one of festive spirits asHo-t asHo-t iated with Halloween. Parties, everywhere! A few of the outstanding out-standing ones are described: Homo Guards held their Halloween Hal-loween party at Highland Boy Community House October 23. Outstanding event of the evening even-ing was a Spook Alley. There were very many original Halloween Hallo-ween costumes, although no prizes priz-es were given. Delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served to 14 young girls. The kindergarten young peo-I'le, peo-I'le, under the able leadership of Miss Alice Virginia Brown, planned plan-ned a party for their friends ind smaller sisters and brothers Friday, Fri-day, October 31. The first, second and third grade story hour group had a party October 28 after school. Refreshments Re-freshments were served and prizes priz-es given the young people whp succeeded in getting the "wet apples". Miss Morinda Grange and Mrs. Robert H. Bailey planned a Halloween Hal-loween party for the entire grade school October 30. Delicious re-ireshments re-ireshments were served by faculty fac-ulty members and games were tnioyed. Mike Gerbich, son of Mrs. Steffie Gerbich, who was recently recent-ly inducted into the army, is now temporarily stationed at San Antonio, An-tonio, Texas. Pvt. John Stcnuga spent a seven-day furlough with friends and relatives. He left Friday evening even-ing for Camp Rice, Va., for further fur-ther training. Highland Boy P.-T.A. recently recent-ly organized. New officers are Mrs. Domingo Garamandi, president, pre-sident, who succeeds Mrs. George Geo-rge Smilanich; Miss Morinda Orange, vice president, who re places Andrew Jones; Mrs. Walter Walt-er Jensen, secretary-treasurer. Mrs. Vernon Jeffcott is outgoing secretary-treasurer, Pvt. Tim Dudley of Butte, Mont., a nephew of Jack Shea, arrived Wednesday to spend the day with the Shea family. He is now stationed at Camp Kearns. The Stitch and Chatter club met Monday evening at the home of Miss Erma Sponga. Officers elected for the year were: president, pre-sident, Frances Shea; vice president, pre-sident, Mary Pasquali; secretary, Erma Sponga; treasurer, Kathryn Kath-ryn Yengich. Delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served. Manuel Ortego, son of Mrs. Josephine Jo-sephine Ortego, and Albert Sala-zar, Sala-zar, for the past few months employed em-ployed at the Ordnance plant in Tooele, have been transferred to Aquilla, Ariz. The boys left Saturday. Sat-urday. Mrs. Pete Pasquali and Erma Sponga and Mary Pasquali were business visitors in Salt Lake City October 24. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Jeffcott and daughters, Helen and Virginia, Vir-ginia, returned home Monday afternoon af-ternoon after spending the weekend week-end in Twin Falls, Idaho. ' Miss Ada Duhigg, Miss Alice Virginia Brown, Miss Marie Button, But-ton, Mary Pasquali, Dorothy Chanak and Mane Azzelio motored mo-tored to Salt Lake City Oct. 25 to attend a reception held in honor hon-or of Mrs. J. D. Bragg, president pre-sident of the Women's Home Missionary Mis-sionary and Christian Fellowship society. Topic of her speech was "The Year of 1943 and How the Women's Society will Meet Its Problems". The address was well delivered and heard with much interest. Mrs. Florence Dellagnola of Salt Lake City, formerly of Highland High-land Boy, was a visitor Monday evening, guest of her many friends and relatives.
