Show A Prisoner Escapes. A well planned and daring escape of a prisoner occurred at the county jail, Sunday evening. William Wil-liam Hardy, or Rogers la the name of the cunning individual. The escape was made sometime between 11.73 in the morning, and 5 M in the afternoon. At the time the escape was made, the members of the Christian Church were holding services In the court room, and the music from the organ drowned the noise of the prisoner's work. The prisoner had been confined In a cell with a wooden floor, which was lighted by n very small w Indow covered w Ith stout iron bars. During certain hours ot the day he, in connection con-nection with the others confined in the jail, were allowed the freedom of the corridor. The cell 011 the north side, just at the foot of the stairs, has been unoccupied for a longtime, and was fastened with a Vale lock-Hardy lock-Hardy pried the lockofT the door, and with the aid of a flic or stone of some klud, worked the hasp downin such a manner that it would lock, but could be opened with ea-c. Ii is probable that during the time the prisoners were allowed the freedom of the corridors, Hardy let himself into the cell, and engaged in his work.
