Show City arrived Monday to visit a month with her daughter, Mrs. Sam Cabibi, who was released yesterday from Bingham hospital hospi-tal Mr. and Mrs. A. Wilson of Murray Mur-ray returned Sunday from an eight-day visit in Long Beacn, Calif., with their son, Pvt. Earl A. Wilson, in the clerical department depart-ment of Ferry squadron, U. b. air corps. The Wilsons were guests Monday evening of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl T. James. . Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Jenkins and son, Dean, were in Spanish Fork last week-end as guests of Mrs. Jenkin's mother, Mrs. Emma Evans. For the first time in 17 years Mrs. Evans had home at the same time all five of her dau- thters: Mrs. Jenkins; Mrs. F. J. igmund of Anchorage, Alaska; Mrs. Paul M. Sorenson of Kim-sham Kim-sham Cove, Alaska; Mrs. Curtis Phipps of Spanish Fork; Mrs. Harold Boyack of Provo. Mrs. Ed Beck entertained last evening for the lower Bingham Sewing club. Mr. and Mrs. Alger Baum left Sunday for Needles, Calif., to visit two weeks with Mrs. Baum's mother, Mrs. William Rogers. Frances Quinn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis J. Quinn, came home Tuesday evening from St. Mary-of-the-Wasatch academy, where she has been a student the past year. Mrs. Eugene Morris and son. Douglas, left Saturday to visit in Ogden for a week with Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hawks and Mr. and C. W. Wimmer. . Sergio Alvarez, a student at the Utah State Agricultural college at Logan the past year, returned home Saturday to spend the summer sum-mer vacation with his mother, Mrs. Teresa Urbina. Sergio played play-ed regular quarterback on the freshman football spuad and was regular on the frosh hoop team. Alvarez plans to major in modern mod-ern languages. o Mr .and Mrs. A .E. Mitchell of Copperton were hosts Sunday evening at delightful six o'clock dinner. The table was centered with fragrant white honeysuckle and purple columbine and covers placed for Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Muir of Bingham; Mr. and Mrs. Byran Bird and Mr. and Mrs. Forrest I. Adams of Midvale; Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Art J. Sorenson of Sandy. San-dy. Monte Carlo whist was played play-ed later, the Petersons winning high score prize. LaRue McCandless celebrated her twelfth birthday June 12 at a party arranged by her mother, Mrs. Duane McCandless. Bingo and a word game were enjoyed, prizes going to Barbara Ball and Catherine Chipian. Others present pres-ent were Dora Dean Christensen, Donna Lee Cook, Virginia Smith and Margaret Stringham. Favors were blue and silver surprise packages. pac-kages. Luncheon and birthday cake were served., Mrs. Paul F. Erz and family plan to leave Monday to join Mr. Erz and make their home at 3028 Jackson street, Ogden. Paul Erz, Jimmie Erz and Wayne Fullmer are spending this week at Ogden. A work and business meeting, with special entertainment, will be held Tuesday afternoon for Bingham LDS ward Relief society so-ciety members, it is announced by Mrs. Ruby Day, president. Dorothy Augustus of Salt Lake City was a week-end guest of Lorraine Caulfield at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Caulfield. The family of the late Thomas Edward and Ann Palmer Marriott Mar-riott of Sandy met Monday evening ev-ening in the Pioneer hall at West Jordan for a. reunion. The 75 present pre-sent enjoyed supper served by the Daughters of the Pioneers, a program and games. Present from Bingham were Mr. and Mrs. John J. Creedon and family, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Marriott and family, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Turner Turn-er and family and Mrs. Ross Marriott. Mar-riott. Mrs. D. N. Larsen of Hidden Treasure mine underwent a major ma-jor .operation at the Bingham hospital Thursday morning. She is reported as doing nicely . Pvt. Frank Begley, who has been at Sheppard Field, Texas, was transferred to Will Rogers' Field, Oklahoma City, Okla, May 28. Mrs. Maggie Peck and son, Bert, of Dividend ..arrived Friday to visit Mrs. Peck's daughter, Mrs. Thomas Prigmore, and son, Marvin, a week. Ernest Prigmore, Thomas Prig-more Prig-more and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Prigmore left Sunday evening to fish a week on the Salmon river in Idaho. Mrs. John Coleman of Spring LOCALNOTES Mr .and Mrs. William Cook returned re-turned Saturday "from an eight-day eight-day vacation in the northwest and California. They left their daughters, Donna Lee and Kay Lou, at home with Mrs. Cook's ; mother, Mrs. Curtis Jensen of Salt Lake City. Miss Bessie Pappanickolas : of Magna was a guest of Miss Helen Drossos, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Drossos, Wednesday and Thursday. Memorial day visitors at the Drossos home were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wallace and Mrs. Billie Nash, all of Salt Lake City: Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Meacham and sons, Kenneth and Lawrence. Mrs. J.J. Doyle left Monday to visit three weeks with a daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Jack Nichols and family, fami-ly, at Pioche, Nev. William T. Krueger left Monday Mon-day to join Mrs. Krueger and daughter, Beverly, at Cedar City, where the two have been guests of Mrs. Krueger's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Royce Nelson, the past two weeks. The Kruegers , plan a 19-day vacation in the mountains moun-tains near Navajo lake. Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Stephan plan to leave Saturday for San Francisco by way of Reno to vacation va-cation on the coast. Mac Reed, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reed of Mesa, Ariz., is here to spend the summer with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. David C. Lyon- |
