Lorus Pratt, well known In Utah as an excellent palnterof landscapes aud portraits, is now in Paris, in company with other artists rrom this Territory, diligently studying to perfect himself in the details of his chosen art. Two of bis largo oil painting", representing bcauUTul scenes in Provo Canyon, attracted favorable attention at the recent Territorial Fair, and were awarded the silver medal. These two picture", pic-ture", handsomely framed, are on exhibition at D. M. McAllister &. Co.'a book store, 72 Main Street, where they will be rallied at au early date. The pictures are valued at three hundred dollars, but Mr. Pratt's family, having need of meanx, has decided to dispone or them for two hundred dollars. Tickets, entitling tlie bolder to a chance to procure one or both or these prize paintings, can be ob tained at tlie store named, or rrom some or the friends or rrunlly or Mr. Pratt, for SI each.
