Show Polirc Conrf. V estcrday afternoon tho following business was done in Justice Lauey's court. The evamination of J. R. Cameron, Camer-on, on a charge ol horse ttealing, which had been pendingsomedays was had. Tho evidence went to show that he was innocent, and he was discharged. Johu Taylor i the name of the colored Larber whom Mr. Daley accused ac-cused of robbing him of a gold watch and chain, aud $300 iu cash. He was arrested aud arraigned and pleaded not guilty. At his reuue-st a number of witnesses were sub-po-tiaed. This morning tile case was continued until July 7Ui at I p. m. The bueincs done today is as follows: Richard Laker was fined 10 for indecent exoosure, and will jay the amount in labor. James Flemiug was arrested for fightiug, and will lie further heard from later. Wm. Hoskius a plain drunk, run in last night, left $5 for his appearance appear-ance this morning which was forfeited. for-feited. Joseph Quinn is under arrest for burglary. Arthur Farnsnortli and Garnctt . Meade y ere each fined $5 for being drunk. Robert Douglas, James Douglas, J. B. Hardy and J.S.Simpsonuere all arrested thismorniugouacharge of disturbing the peace. The first tiiree deposited $5 each and the last 510 as security for their appearance at 2 p.m. today. The case was to be heard this Ji.ni. Thos. Daniels, charged with trespass tres-pass on the premises of the Catholic Academy was fined $5. Henry McCue, J. II. Smith and Johu Ferris were each convicted of a like offense and fined ;.". James Gravis, a negro, who, on June 20, left 25 for his appearanc to answer a charge of fighting, which sum was forfeited, came into court this morning and pleaded guilty. The forfeiture was set aside and the defendant was fined $10 and costs amounting to $5.S0, which sums wcrp taken outof the $25, and tlio balance, $9.20, was returned to him. |
