E , was re-called and produced samples of 'water, among others, taken from UlB Great Salt Lakeand tho ponds on the land in di.pute overlying tho bait deposit, Ion Mv.sm, lsga. Mr. Stephens, however, oljjected to the lntroduc tion of these inevidenee, chitfly for the reason that there was no dispute as to there hain3 incrdstations of salt on certllii portions of the land In qotstiou and water on the salt. Specimens of water from the artesian arte-sian wells and elsewhere on the disputed dis-puted land in near proximity to the lake were also submitted and objected ob-jected to a? evidence. He was questioned as to Uie overflow ing of the lake upon these lands, their condition and character o far as his know ledge extended, ex-tended, and as to th constructtonof Uie "big dam." Witness said he furnished the funds for the construction construc-tion of Uie latter, in order to enclose a large body of water tba; at thf time formed an inlet to the Great Salt Lake, for the purpo-e of manufacturing manu-facturing salt by solar evaporaUon.
