The contract con-tract for building tho Pacific Short Line from Oeil, Neb., to Salt Lake City, a distance of about SS0 miles, has been signed, and the completion com-pletion of the road is looked for within two i ears. Meetings of tlie pnrtLa Interested have been held tills week at the office of thu Manhattan Man-hattan Trust Company in this city, and yesterday they announced that tho Wiomlng & Pacific Improve-mers Improve-mers Company, which has charge of tho construction of thu three railroads composing the Pacific Short Line, had awarded the contract con-tract for tlie entire distance to Scul-liii Scul-liii A Tract y, railroad contractor of Brookvilie, Out. Goodwin, who Is president of the Wyoming and Pacific Improvement Coniiuny,a!d yesterday that the financial difficulties diffi-culties In the way of completion of the road were all removed. It has been generally thought tliat the Short Line would be constructed by the Chicago, Milwaukee & bt. Paul. Goodwin would not adndt tliat this Is a fact. |
