Show MAPLETON, VFW WIN IN SOFTBALL TILTS Mapleton Club Holds League Lead; Four Games Scheduled Friday, Tuesday The fast-moving Mapleton Jaycees Jay-cees continued to lead the city softball race here, winning two games during the past week. VFW climbed up to tie for second place with the Springville Jaycees with two wins. The Firemen were held to no wins and occupy the bottom place in the team standings. Tuesday, July 1, the V. F. W. club blasted out an 18-4 win over the Firemen while Mapleton's Jaycees Jay-cees were handing- their fellow Springville Jaycees a 19-6 slashing. Tuesday, July 7, the Firemen put up a gallant fight with the Mapleton Map-leton club, but lost 12-7. The V. F. W. team had a field day with the Jaycees, 'scoring 31 points and holding the opposition to 1 run. Week's Schedule . . . Friday, July 11, the V. F. W. will play the Mapleton Jaycee club in what should be the top game of the evening. Springville Jaycees Jay-cees and the Firemen will tangle in the last game of the evening. Tuesday, July 15, the Mapleton Jaycees will play the Springville Jaycees and the Firemen will oppose op-pose the V. F. W. club. 'All games begin at 8 and 9 p. m.
