Show Armed Forces Hoyt Baxter Made Second Lieutenant Hoyt Baxter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Baxter, was commissioned commis-sioned a second lieutenant on June 20, after completing OCS at Fonn-talnebleau, Fonn-talnebleau, France, according to word received here. Lt. Baxter had been with the Ninth army in Germany when it was making the famous drive for Berlin. In this campaign he earned two battle stars. While the fighting fight-ing was still in progress, he was selected from Company A Combat, Engineers to return to Paris for OCS. Since receiving his commission, commis-sion, he has been assigned to the Third Quartermaster's company, Third Infantry division. This famous fa-mous division fought its way through Europe experiencing heavy hea-vy casualties and was relieved only when Germany surrendered. Lt. Baxter enlisted with the National Na-tional Guard and was originally with the 115 Combat Engineers, leaving Springville in March, 1941. Reed Clements |
