Show County Purchases Hew Equipment Approximately $11,859 in new road equipment and materials were purchased by County Com-imtissioner Com-imtissioner J. Clark Elmer and County Road Supervisor Sylvan Clark at an army surplus auction in Seattle, Wash. The new pieces of heavy duty machinery include a 20,000 lb. caterpillar bulldozer with hydra-tic hydra-tic lift, $6400 and a 23,000 lb. Bay city dragline crane, for $5,400. The county officials also purchased pur-chased a smoke generator which can be converted into a steam generating plant for cleaning truck engines. The generator cost $54, Commissioner Elmer stated. Five hundred pounds of welding rod at one cent a pound was also bought, toy the officials at the auction. Although no shipping date was quoted toy the auctioneers, the equipment was to toe loaded today and it is expected here near the end of the week, i The auction was held at the Eagles hall in, Seattle, Wash, last week and the equipment was stored at Renton Boeing plant near Seattle. Over 800 persons were registered for the auction. |
