Show TWO UTAH METALS ' FUSED INTO NEW ALLOY PRODUCT Two Utah metals copper and lead have been successfully fused into a new alloy that bids fair to revolutionize industrial machinery because this new product converted convert-ed into machine bearings, practically practi-cally never wears out. Even without with-out lubrication, exhaustive tests reveal that the bearings will not burn up after hours of no lubrication; lubrica-tion; the self -oiling qualities furnished fur-nished by the lead in the alloy Is the answer. Utahns who perfected this new alloy Lee Bowen and Dan G. Cunningham, Cun-ningham, the latter a former master mas-ter mechanic for the D. & R. G. Western railroad, vision manufacturing manufac-turing plants all over the nation changing over to the new copper-lead copper-lead alloy bearings. "Hot boxes," the dread of railroad trainmen, can he entirely eliminated through the use of the new bearing," it is pointed out. The new develoment promises wider use of Utah minerals. |
