Show SERVICES WILL BE SAT. FOR MRS. MINNIE OAKEY Minnie Belle Mason Oakey, 70, wife of Shipton Oakey, died Tuesday Tues-day at 6:50 a. m., at the family home, 173 Buckley Ave., after a two-month illness. She was born in Springville May 30, 1877, a daughter of George A. and Rachel Scovil Mason. She married Shipton Oakey on Dec. 26, 1898, and later went through the Manti temple. She has spent most of her life in Springville. She has been an active member of the L. D. S. church, spending many years as a visiting teacher for the Relief Society, and also in a religion class. Survivors include her husband, four daughters and one son, all of Springville. They are: Mrs. George Jones, Mrs. Oscar Lopez, Mrs. Maurice Richmond, Mrs. Lamar La-mar Johnson, and Glen S. Oakey; 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; also two brothers, Rolla Mason, Springville, and Lynn Mason, Heber City, and one sister, Mrs. Basset Smith, Springville. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Saturday at 2:00 p. m. in the Second ward chapel, under the direction of the Fifth ward bishopric. bish-opric. Friends may call at the family home Friday evening and Saturday Satur-day prior to the services. Intarment will be conducted at the Evergreen cemetery under the direction of A. Y. Wheeler and Son. |
