Show Couple Wed In Temple, Honored At Reception Among interesting social events of the past week w.Q the wedding reception last Thursday evening complimenting compliment-ing the former Miss Bernadine Payne, daughter of Mr. and . INTERESTING PAPER GIVEN AT CLUB MEET An interesting paper on "Family Life, was given at the meeting of the Alpha Beta club Friday, by Mrs. E. T. Crandall. Mrs. M. R. Straw was hostess and served nicely arrartged refreshments at the close of the meeting to sixteen club members and one guest. Mrs. Crandall emphasized the importance of providing a place of amusement for the adolescent. She stated that this age group, should be considered as adults rather than children and that through provision of proper environment envir-onment for the adolescent, juvenile juven-ile delinquency would decrease. She stressed the point t hat mothers should have some outside interest and that families should not try to change the world but should enter en-ter into affairs of the world and make it better. Supplementing the paper, were vocal duets given by Mrs. Nell Con-die Con-die and Mrs. Afton Palfreyman with Mrs. Ida Bird, accompanist. The next meeting of the club was announced for Friday, Dec. 6, at the home of Mrs. A. O. Packard. Mrs. Milton Harrison, club vice-president, was in charge of the meeting. Mrs. D. E. Payne of this city, and Kelly Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Jensen of Mapleton. The couple was married in the Manti temple on Wednesday, November No-vember 20, in the presence of immediate im-mediate family members and close friends. The bride chose for her wedding attire, a white brocaded taffeta, entrain. Her fingertip veil of silk net was arranged to her head with a ruffled crown of net. She carried car-ried a lovely bouquet of rosebuds and gardenias. Her attendants were, Mrs. Kate Lasson as matron of honor, and Elaine Jones, Florice Hjorth, Frances Fran-ces Wheeler, Norma Liechty and Irene Jensen. They each" wore a pastel colored formal and held colonial bouquets. Paul Hansen was best man. Little Kathleen Russell Rus-sell and Deann Lasson were flower girls and they wore white satin formats and carried tiny baskets of chrysanthemums and rosebuds. A well arranged program was given during the reception, together togeth-er with dancing. Mrs. Lester Hansen Han-sen was master of ceremonies. Refreshments were served under direction of Mrs. A. G. Thorn, assisted as-sisted by a group of relatives from Mapleton. Lenore Livingston and Beth Johnson had charge of the gift room. The newlyweds left after their reception on a trip to Boulder City, Nevada. They plan to make their home in Spanish Fork. CULTURAL ARTS CLUB MEMBERS ENTERTAINED Mrs. Theora Peterson was hostess hos-tess to members of the Cultural Arts club at an interesting meeting meet-ing at her home on Wednesday evening. The program featured a talk by Mrs. Frank J. Earl of Provo, Pro-vo, on Art Appreciation. At the close of the program, tasty refreshments were served by the hostess to twenty club members mem-bers and guests. The next meeting of the club was announced for Dec. 18, to be in the form .of a Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Elzina Laney with Mrs. Clista Thomas assisting hostess. |
