" v : j- . , . : ; ; : ) 1 v , i ,' : - From faraway Shanghai, China, comes word of the marriage of James D. (Sonny) Gore, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Gore of this city, and Miss Ethel Roche, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Roche of Shanghai. The marriage ceremony tooh place on Saturday, Fet-ruary Fet-ruary 1, in the afternoon, at the Church of Christ the King, in Shanghai. After the ceremony, the couple was honored with a reception at the Navy Y base and later, parents of the bride entertained at dinner at their home. The bride was attired in a beautiful wedding gown of white pigskin satin and she wore a floor-length veil of net fashioned to her head with a ruffled crown. She carried a pretty bouquet of white carnations, with wide satin ribbon streamers. The Y base was especially decorated for the reception with pink and .white streamers and the bride and groom were seated in white draped chairs over which hung tiny silver bells. The newly weds greeted many friends who presented them with lovely wedding gifts. The couple will reside in Shanghai for the present, where Mr. Oore, A3 in the Navy, is stationed and where his wife is employed in the UNRRA. Sonny has been overseas nineteen months but hopes to be transferred some time this summer. |
