Show Geneva Steel Official Addresses C. of C. Installation Banquet Walter A. Caine, representing Geneva Steel Co., addressed the Springville Chamber of Commerce installation in-stallation banauet-nrosrram Wednesdav evem'no- at. A A W Memorial hall. The meeting presided over by Harrison Conover, retiring president, presi-dent, was attended by approximately approxi-mately 230 Chamber members and their partners and guests. Edwin Johnson lections by Mrs. Maurice Bird; a musical stunt by R. B. Weight, Bill Parry, Bill Kapp and Jim All-red All-red and dance numbers by Jean and Joan Averett. During the evening a compilation compila-tion in booklet form listing .the accomplishments of the Chamber of Commerce the past year, was distributed. The .report proved that the Chamber has been instrumental instru-mental in initiating numerous Worthwhile projects and has a long list of accomplishments working work-ing for the good of every individual individ-ual and the city as a whole. During the evening, C. Edwin Johnson, owner and manager of Ed Johnson Tire Service, took over the duties of president of the Chamber with George B. Bon-spur, Bon-spur, superintendent of the Illinois Powder Co., vice-president; J. Lewis Bird, Harold Christensen, Leo Crandall, Harold Whiting, members of the board of directors. Mr. Conover automatically takes over the position of a director and A. L. Thorpe, Wm. G. Ruff, H. T. Reynolds, A. Y. Wheeler and Charles Franks are holdovers. |
