How Oliver daringly dar-ingly carries out his mission under the threat of Jap bayonets and Jap toivire forms the gripping climax of the film. Made with the full cooperation of the U. S. Army Air Force, much of the picture was photographed at the big Bombardier training school a: Kirtland field near Albuquerque, Albu-querque, and the education of the hand-picked youngsters who are taught the carefully guarded secrets sec-rets of. the Norden sight is shown in detail as a singularly realistic background to the romance and rivalry of the plot. How the boys practice until they can literally "drop 'em in a barrel" bar-rel" from altitudes so great that the big bombers are almost invisible, invisi-ble, is vividly shown in the unusual unus-ual film. Much of its story is said to parallel the professional Air Force colonel whose enthusiasm for the Norden sight was largely responsible re-sponsible for its present development develop-ment and effective use. |
