Show Springville And Provo To Clash In Final Grid Game Here Game Time Is Set For 2 :30 P. M. Friday ; Six Senior Lettermen Will Be Playing Last Game For Springville High The Springville high school Red Devils will battle with the Provo Bulldogs here Friday in their final league game of the season, : The game will start at 2 :30 p. m. Provo will be out to win to place second in the Region chase and is given an edge in Friday's contest con-test here. Springville, however, has been improving steadily as the season has progressed, and should give the visiting Bulldogs plenty of trouble throughout the game. Coach Christensen will have six first-stringers who will be playing their final game of their high school career. These fellows, all seniors, are: Allan Fullmer, Joe Cranmer, Creed Jenkins, Lee Tay- lor, John Jensen and Hal Clyde. Owen Fullmer, who has not been playing with the team because of an injury some three weeks ago, is also a senior on the club. The Friday contest will ring down the curtain on football play in Region Three for the current year, with most of the teams having hav-ing played their five-game Teague schedule. Other contests in this week's region play will pit Lincoln at Payson, Pleasant Grove at Lehi, and American Fork at B. Y. High. " The Red Devils dropped their contest last Friday to American Fork on the Cavemen's own field, 6-0, after a bitter battle on a cold, wind-swept field. The Cavemen counted their score in the third quarter. Coach DelMoine Christensen announced an-nounced that regular basketball practice will open Monday in the gym for all prospective hoop candidates can-didates for the S. H. S. 1944 team. Mentor Christensen plans to hold some 15 to 18 players on the squad for practice games, but will likely cut the squad by the first of the year. Several practice games are being outlined before the league games start in January. |
