Show Double-Header Game Set For Tonight Army Team And Local Boys To Meet In Major Game Of The Evening To Be Preceded By Scout Game At Ball Park i Under supervision of the city recreation department, depart-ment, a double-header softball game is scheduled for Thursday evening-, at the city ball park, according to J. F. Wingate, director. Beginning at 7:30 p. m., a game between; the Third Ward Boy Scouts and Pleasant Grove Scouts will be played. The local Scout team has had some fine practices and this game promises to be a good one for local fans. The second game, scheduled for 8:30 p. m., will be between an Army team and the local Spark Plugs, sponsored by Smitties' Texaco Tex-aco Service. Those who have seen the hometown home-town boys in practice are anticipating antici-pating a close contest. An invitation is extended to the public to attend both games. Director Wingate also announces announ-ces that the recreation program is progressing with a large number participating in the various events. Especially is the dance instruction instruc-tion at the high school proving to be popular, with approximately 100 boys and girls enrolled for free lessons three times a week. |
