Show GRANT THORN TO SPEAK AT JAYCEE MEET Jr. Chamber Circulates Petition For State Polio Hospital Grant Thorn, state president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, who has just returned from a national board meeting in Chicago, will be the speaker at the Jay-cee Jay-cee regular meeting this evening, at Memorial hall, announces President Pres-ident Ernest Boyer. His topic will be, "Future Leadership Lead-ership and Our Responsibility," and he will have a fine message for all. The meeting will be under direction direc-tion of the membership committee commit-tee with Harley Jenkins in charge. It is a membership drive meeting meet-ing and President Boyer is urging every Jaycee member to make a special effort to be in attendance and to bring a prospective member mem-ber to the club meeting. He further fur-ther states that there is a place in the Jaycees for every civic-minded civic-minded young man in Springville for one does not have a better opportunity to be of community service than when he is affiliated With SUCh an Organization The safety committee meeting of which Lee Miner is chairman, has been postponed for the present. pres-ent. During the past week, the Springville Junior Chamber of Commerce has been circulating a petition in Springville calling for erection of a state polio hospital which would be a part of the proposed pro-posed Medical Center for the state in Salt Lake City. Ernest Boyer points out that everyone is aware of the necessity of proper care and treatment of polio victims and the erection of a hospital of the type proposed would be of untold benefit to the whole state of Utah. The project has the endorsement endorse-ment of the state board of health and if anyone is desirous of signing sign-ing the petition and has not been contacted, please notify Dr. Reed Holdaway, Wallace Patrick, Ray Klauck or Ernest Boyer. |
