Show " - - : f 'ERSATILITY CLUB ORGANIZED TUESDAY A new social club, to be known as the Versatility club, was organized or-ganized at a party held Tuesday night at the home of Mrs. Russen Bird. Mrs. Joe Miller was elected president; Mrs. Russen Bird, vice-president; vice-president; Mrs. Ferl Bown, secretary-reporter. During the evening the club Program for the year was outlined to include a program of socials and literary meetings. In conclusion, luncheon was served to the following members: Mrs. Geraldine Atkinson, Mrs. Ferl Bown, Mrs. Eloise Bird, Mrs. Evelyn Bird, Mrs. Elzina Laney, Mrs. Eulalia Livingston, Mrs. Helen Rowland, Mrs. Naomi Rowan, Row-an, Mrs. Harriet Strong, Mrs. Mary Wiscomb, Mrs. Beryl Warner, War-ner, and Mrs. May Miller. GEORGE H. HANSEN SPEAKS TO ALPHA BETA CLUB George H. Hansen gave an interesting in-teresting lecture on "Utah National Nation-al Resources," at a meeting of the Alpha Beta club held Friday, September 27, at the home of Mrs. A. O. Packard. Mrs. W. L. Schreiner also gave a humorous reading, after which refreshments were served. The next meeting of the club has been postponed until October 11th. FIDELITY BRIDGE CLUB IS ENTERTAINED Mrs. Rose Roylance was hostess hos-tess to members of the Fidelity Bridge club Thursday evening on the occasion of her birthday. A hot luncheon was served first at a long table centered with a beautiful pink and white birthday birth-day cake with candles. After the luncheon, bridge was played, with prizes going to Fay Cranmer, Floss Cates, and Marie Morgan. Members present were Fay Cranmer, Mary Clegg, Floss Cates, Delia Dallin, Ann Johnson, Olive Miller, Flora Maiben. and Marie Morgan. JOSEPH JENSEN HONORED ON 65th BIRTHDAY Joseph Jensen was honored guest at a surprise party given by his children on the occasion of his 65th birthday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Russell Jensen of Spanish Fork, -Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Carleson of Salem,, Mrs. Harold Whiting, Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Ermel Jensen, Mrs. Fay Jensen, Fred and Fern Jensen of Maple-ton, Maple-ton, and Keith Butler of Provo. Davis-Mason Nuptial Plans Are Annnounced This Week i Thursday, October 10, to which approximately 350 invitations have been issued. - Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Davis of this city announce the engagement' engage-ment' of their daughter, Miss Evelyn Davis, to Lamar R. Mason, Ma-son, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Ross Mason, also of Springville, the marriage to take place on Wednesday., Wed-nesday., October 9, in the Salt Lake City L. D. S. temple. . A graduate beautician, Miss Davis has been operating in Springville the past year and a half. She is affiliated with the Kappa Delta Chi, national beautician beauti-cian organization, and is a member mem-ber of Les Vivantes club. Mr. Mason is a graduate of the Utah State Agricultural college, Logan, and a former student of B. Y. U. at Provo. He is a member mem-ber of the Alpha Zeta, national honorary agricultural fraternity, the Xi Sigma Pi, national honorary honor-ary forestry fraternity, and Phi Kappa Phi, national scholastic fraternity. He was a former officer offi-cer of the Utah Foresters' club, and now has an appointment as a junior range examiner in the forest for-est service. Honoring the young couple, a wedding reception will be given in the First ward amusement hall on |
