Show tffai Artists Exhibits To Be Shown In Series -i First Exhibit Oct. 1 Features Local Artists Work At a meeting of the Hafen-Dallin Hafen-Dallin art club held Wednesday night in the Art building, the year's program, featuring a series of exhibits of the works of Utah arists, was outlined. Each of the exhibits will be hung in the Art building and will be on display for two weeks. One lecture each week will be given by Glen Turner,, curator of the Springville high school art exhibit. The lectures will concern the life, aims, and ideals of the artists whose works are being shown. Beginning Tuesday, October 1, the first exhibit featured the canvasses of prominent Springville artists. After two weeks, this group will be replaced by other Utah artists' works, which will likewise be hung for a period of two weeks. After a period of six weeks, the first half of the series will end. The second half, according to plans, will continue after the holidays holi-days and will lead up to the April Annual National Art Exhibit, when the wofks of artists from all parts of the United States will be shown, as well as the best works of Utah artists. The purpose of the course, according ac-cording to President Beulah Whiting, Whit-ing, is to increase appreciation for works of art being produced within the state. During the meeting, Mrs. Mae Huntington gave an illustrated art lecture and musical numbers in the form of vocal duets, were given by Dorothy Van Schaack and Winifred Garnick, accompanied accompan-ied by Louise Clyde. |
