Show 'HIGHWAY TO BE IMPROVED ON MAIN STREET Road Commission Agrees To Assist With Improvements On North And South Limits Efforts are being made by the city council to have a portion oi the highway bordering the Sail Lake & Utah railroad tracks or the north and south limits of Mair street graveled and oiled. The proposed pro-posed improvement would not onlj make a pleasing appearance of the highway, but would eliminate the clouds of dust each time the trains pass through the city. City officials have contacted the state road commission and the members have agreed to assist with the project providing the city is responsible for labor and equipment. equip-ment. Springville has also asked the railroad to improve the portion of track going through Main street. They point to the fact that the cement blocks between the tracks have raised in some places to cause a traffic hazard. So far they have received no definite answer ans-wer from the railroad company. The gravel and oil project would include both sides of the track from First North to Fourth North and Fourth South to Seventh South streets. |
