Show OFFICIAL NOW MAKING STEEL SURVEY Planning Tioard Seeks Data On Facilities of County J. R. Dunford of Denver, Colorado, Colo-rado, representing the federal planning board,' was in Springville Spring-ville Tuesday investigating facilities facili-ties in view of the proposed steel plant expansion program. Mr. Dunford met with representatives represen-tatives of the Springville Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce, William Parry, and others seeking data on housing facilities, school facilities, water supplies, and sewage systems. On Monday he met with the Utah county commissioners for the purpose of acquiring this information in-formation in general througout the county. Mr. Dunford said he was also interested in-terested in the attitude of citizens of this section toward the steel development de-velopment which would require' some 2500 employees and possibly an influx of out-of-state labor. Utah county commissioners assured as-sured him that they were heartily in favor of the steel program. They pointed out that school and water facilities were good but that the problem of housing would require considerable building. Sylvan W. Clark of Lehi, county commissioner, pointed out that there are now 700 men on the WPA lists available for work and another an-other 700 men desiring employment. |
