Show Ladies Literary Club Sees Slides of Europe 1 Miss Carol Jacobsen took members mem-bers of the Ladies Literary club on a journey with colored pictures pic-tures from the time she left Chicago, Chi-cago, until she returned three ruonths later from a tour of Europe, Eur-ope, England and the Scandinavian Scandinav-ian countries. The meeting was held last Thursday evening, at the home of Mrs. Wm. H. Brown. In connection with showing of the slides, Miss Jacobsen spoke briefly of the numerous places of historical interest and scenic beauty beau-ty which she visited during a scheduled tour with a group from the B.Y.U. Mrs. E. T. Crandall, who recently re-cently took a five-day course in civil defense in California, gave highlights of the instruction and re-ported that trainers described civil defense as a way of life. Mrs C. A. Smith, club president, presi-dent, was in charge of the meeting and she and Mrs. Crandall gave brief reports on the recent Women's Wo-men's eLgislative council mestmg in Provo. Luncheon preceded the program, served by the hostess to twenty-two twenty-two club members and guests. She was assisted in serving by her daughter, Mrs. Wilna Allred. |
