Others attending were: Mary Bleggi, Rea Bleggi, Louise Schwartz, Beth Bird, Dorothy Per-rero, Per-rero, Delia Christensen, Janet Carnesecca, Rose Bona, Irene Freeman, Mary Carnesecca. At conclusion of the lesson a short business meeting was held. The next meeting will be conducted conduct-ed by the Red Color group with Captain Mary Carnesecca in charge. Mrs. Charles Atcheson and small daughters Shirley and Beverly of Long Beach, California, are spending spend-ing the summer at the home of her mcther Mrs. Hannah Binks. Mrs. Hannah. Binks joined the group of temple excursionists from Spanish Fork to Cardston, Canada. She plans on spending a week on the trip which includes a tour of Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, Craters Cra-ters of the Moon, as well as the parks in Canada. - Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Davis and son Ben of Alahambra, California, are spending the summer at Ma-pleton. Ma-pleton. Mr. Davis is a teacher in Alahambra high school. Word has been received from Air Force Cadet Don Harmer, who was injured in an automobile accident ac-cident on June 7th, is improving rapidly and is getting along as well as could be expected. He is confined to the hospital at Lackland Lack-land air force base at Texas and he expects to remain there for two or three more weeks. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Harmer. Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Olson and four children of Fort Collins, Colorado, Col-orado, are visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John I. Holley. Before returning home they intend to visit Yellowstone National Park. Monday night the officers of the MIA and their partners held a swimming and pot-luck supper at Park RoShe. Mayor and Mrs. Elmer W. Bird and their daughter Maurine, motored mo-tored to Heber Sunday to spend the day with friends and relatives. On Tuesday, July 21 Mrs. Velyn B. Stevens of Provo will give a lesson on "salads". The meeting Miss Carol Sumsion She will be married to Paul W. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Allen of Springville by Bishop Mel-vin Mel-vin Dunkley of American Fork. Attractive Miss Allen is the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Allen of Mapleton. Mrs. Gladys Mortensen and her daughter Shirley of Vernal spent two days of last week visiting at the home of her aunt Mrs. L. A. Neilson. Mark Whiting of Las Vegas, Nevada, was a visitor at the home of his father-in-law, L. A. Neilson during the week. Relief Society will be held in the Mapleton Ward Tuesday, July 21 at 2 p.m. and will feature a demonstration dem-onstration of salad making by Mrs. Velyn Stevens, county home demonstration agent. A display of lamp shades made by the Relief Society women during the past month will also be seen. All members mem-bers are urged to attend. will be held at the church and all Relief Society members are urged to be present. Mr. Blair Binks of Salt Lake City accompanied by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norris T. Binks and Mrs. Kathlyn Parkinson and her daughters Connie and Wendy motored mo-tored to Zion's and Bryce's Canyons Can-yons over the weekend. Under the chairmanship of Johnny John-ny Bleggi and Norma Canto, Mapleton Ma-pleton is going ahead with its civil defense plans., A two way radio has just been installed in the police car which is also equipped as an ambulance with stretcher, etc. Darrell Warren and Dean Binks who have joined the inactive reserve re-serve of the army had a reunion with the following Springville and Mapleton boys stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington: Bob Allen, Jay Stewart, Blaine Hales and Bert Gividen. A new baby girl has arrived at' the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bleggi. Pretty Miss Re Vee Allen has set her wedding date for Thursday July 23, at the Mapleton church. |
