Show Political Contests Poll Record Vote 1 1 C. M. Wentz Wins Mapleton Mayor Job Over Two Other Candidates Maston Wentz was elected mayor of Mapleton defeating de-feating incumbent Elmer Bird during the city election Tuesday. Elected to serve with Mr. Wentz are: Bur- Mapleton Mayor . . . x X J ! i j. i ' . s x I ! --v , ; ! i ' ton Warren and Leonard Han-is. All winning candidates were on the People's Party. Election interest ran high throughout Mapleton with three complete tickets on the ballot. The candidates for the election and the number of votes cast for each follows: Maston Wentz, 151 votes; Burton Bur-ton Warren, 190; Leonard Harris, 141. Elmer Bird, 86 votes; John Perry, 91 and Paul Jensen 95. Hugh Hjorth, 76 votes and Johnny Bleggi, 88. Kiwanis Club Dr. Obert Tanner of the University Uni-versity of Utah political science department de-partment will discuss achievements and problems of the UN at the Kiwanis Ki-wanis club meeting this evening at 7 p.m., at Chicken Roost. W. W. Brockbank will be toastmaster. Secretary Clarence Jensen announces an-nounces that all ballots on the club election must be in today and the results of the election will be announced an-nounced at the meeting this evening. even-ing.
