Having lust but one game during dur-ing the prc-season campaign, the I'rovo team is touted as having one of their best clubs even better bet-ter than last years class A championsat cham-pionsat this stage of play and have run up some bewildering scores against their opponents this year. Although the Devils will be cast in the underdog roll, the Garrett machine is capable at their very best to give the Bulldogs a run for their money. The game should provide a good battle between Springvi lie's George Black and Provo's Lonnie Gleave, both of whom reach into the 6-4 range. Both boys have been playing outstanding out-standing ball for their respective clubs. Gleave dunked in 27 counters coun-ters against the Spanish Fork Dons in their easy win at Provo. Springville eked out a one-point win when the two clubs played here last year and the Devils are hoping to stop the defending state champs come Friday night. Devils vs Tigers A mid-week game for all Region 5 teams has been scheduled for next Wednesday night, Jan. 16. Springville will host the Orem High cagers. Orem pulled a surprise sur-prise last week in beating the Carbon Car-bon Dinos on their own court and will be another hard team to beat. What with the Provo game and Orem coming within a week, the Red Devils title picture will be somewhat clarified following the |
